Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid return, winners and losers!

Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid return, Neymar, Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale, Isco Alarcon and how it affects everyone

Zinedine Zidane made a sensational return to former club Real Madrid, less than a year since quitting the Santiago Bernabau – who are in tatters and in need for major improvements.

The French man quit the club after over two years of absolute European success, due to dispute with Florentino Perez over transfer decisions. However, having seen both Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari fail to live up to the tide without a talisman in Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane has been called back to work his magic of recoveries for next season.

Whilst Zidane’s return, spells positivity for the club faithful. It doesn’t sound like good news for everyone.

Gareth Bale

Between Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale, it’s always been a horror story. And whilst Bale came out on the top the last time, it doesn’t look too good for the Welshman, following Zidane’s sensational return to the club.

Bale himself admitted to having a rocky relationship with the Frenchman, -at least not the kind he[Zidane] shared with a few other players including Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to reports, Gareth Bale was one major reason Zinedine Zidane quit the Bernabau previously. And it doesn’t seem they’d ever get along, with Sunday Express now linking Bale in a sensational swoop for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, after the French man was reinstated.

It’s no news Zidane has been a huge fan of PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. And while it’s nearly impossible to lure both players away from the French champions, Bale could be included in a deal for either player in hope to cut down the mammoth transfer fee.

Chelsea

Zidane’s return to Real Madrid surely means great news for Eden Hazard, who previously revealed his dream to work under the manager. However at this instant, losing Eden Hazard is nothing but bad news for the West London blues after being hit with a transfer ban for several infringements.

Hazard has been a long time target for the Frenchman, who proposed a move for the Chelsea talisman in place of Cristiano Ronaldo who left for Juventus. But the Belgian eventually stayed put in the summer, as Zidane quit the club and Thibaut Courtois sealed himself a place at Madrid.

Eden Hazard is yet to sign an improved contract extension, despite the club’s best efforts to keep the Belgian, and it seems luck has finally shined on the forward – who is very likely to be on the fore front of Zidane’s summer recruitment, to help revamp Real Madrid.

Mauricio Pochettino & Jose Mourinho

Both managers were heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabau, with Jose Mourinho the most recent to be in the rumours to sit at the dug out.

Dany Levy would be pleased to hear the news, with Pochettino having now missed out on a lucrative Madrid job and looking very much likely to miss out on another with Manchester United, after watching Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turn the tables in his favour with just three months in charge.

Jose Mourinho on the other hand, can now focus on his dream job at Paris Saint Germain, with the Portuguese earlier revealing his desire to work in the French Ligue 1.

Isco Alarcon

Not even the Real Madrid faithful will be happier to see Zinedine Zidane than Isco, who has been dropped to the club reserves for a long time now.

Isco Alarcon has been linked with an exit from the club, following Solari’s decision to drop the midfielder since taking charge. However, with Zidane back in the dugout, it’s unlikely the Spaniard will be leaving the club, with hope he will return to the role he once played for the manager en route to lifting three Champions League titles.
