Jose Mourinho is hoping for a swift and grand return to the football coaching world. However, one thing is sure, it’s not with Real Madrid – not after Zinedine Zidane was reappointed just less than a year after quitting the job.
Mourinho was believed to be running for the position, but after missing out to the Frenchman, the Portuguese manager is now backing Zizou as the only perfect fit for the Los Blancos and the “best person” for the job.
“I do not think we can talk about a career for him yet,” Mourinho said on Canal Plus.
“But in a very short time, he did what no one had done before, that is winning three consecutive Champions Leagues”.
“Now he is starting a new step in his career. He has to build a team, he has to make choices, buy players, sell them. He has to train them, give them his philosophy of play.
“I think he’s probably the best person for this club.”
Jose Mourinho remains out of a coaching job since he was relieved of his duties at Manchester United. However, despite previously admitting he had rejected several offers to return to the dugout, Mourinho is relishing getting back into his favourite job and admits he misses it.
“Day after day, I miss training. I’m not going to hide it,” He said.
“There’s something going on in my head, winning a fifth league and a new Champions League with a third club.”
