Unai Emery target Eric Bailly in massive revise of Arsenal defence

Unai Emery has made Man Utd out of favour center back Eric Bailly his top defensive target, as he looks to mend Arsenal’s porous defence in the summer.

Bailly, 25, joined United in the summer window of the year 2016 in a deal worth €38 million. However, following a promising and impressive début season under Jose Mourinho, Bailly slowly declined in request, and has now only made eleven Premier League appearances in the season.

The Ivorian has made only a single Premier League start since the turn of the year, and according to TheSun, ‘Emery is a huge fan of the Ivory Coast international and is ‘desperate’ to bring him in as part of a massive revamp of Arsenal’s back-line.’

Arsenal were torn in two against Wolverhampton wanderers in the mid-week, and Emery is aiming at revising his average defensive line, and won’t take his eye off former Villarreal defender Eric Bailly.

The North London club would attempt to convince Manchester United, with a first bid of (£20m) €23 million, as they believe they could get Bailly for a bargain price, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer probably happy to sell and raise funds for signings of his own.

Unai Emery and Arsenal will however, have to fend off Ligue 1 side Lyon, who are also believed to be interested in securing Eric Bailly. And could take top spot, with both clubs on cordial terms, and United preferring to sell abroad, rather than strengthen a rival.
