Tottenham Hotspur: The Ugly truth, even Mourinho knows - Tottenham Hotspur, José Mourinho

Following another Tottenham Hotspur win on Saturday, Jose Mourinho has opened up on his current status at his new club.

The Portuguese took over from former manager Mauricio Pochettino, in what many would term as an unexpected pairing. However, it’s been three matches and Jose Mourinho is yet to taste defeat.

Mourinho has never been one to receive or demand affection in his line of work. But with Tottenham Hotspur, the manager is willing to do all he can, to earn the affection on his new supporters.

“The fans love the club, I’m not saying they love me but they accept me as a top professional who wants to give everything for the club.” He told the BBC.

“People have more reasons to love me if they like my work, but the fans are behind the team and the see us working hard to get to a position in the table that is more suitable to the talent of this squad.”

Since Mourinho’s appointment, Tottenham Hotspur have clawed their way back to the top flight chase, and despite being a tad off, are happy to have made the jump from 14th place to 5th under the new manager.

Much of the Spurs’ success, have been attributed to the resurgence of Dele Alli, whom the manager has not left out in his long praise after an incredible three matches.

The lack of squad depth means Jose Mourinho would have to keep fitness in check. The manager revealing ‘the boys felt a bit tired after playing a high-intensity game’.

However, rest would have to wait, as Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham Hotspur side take a trip down memory lane on Wednesday, when they visit Old Trafford, home to Jose’s last love Manchester United.
