Thibaut Courtois is certain the Spanish media are out to kill him(not literally though), as the goal keeper opened up about his thoughts.
Thibaut Courtois is no longer outright favourite at Real Madrid, following Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Los Blancos dug out. As the Belgian was dropped for the Frenchman’s first fixture and probably further dented his claim after a dreadful pass from the goalie allowed Denis Cheryshev to score in Belgium’s 3-1 win over Russia.
Despite the flaws shown lately, Courtois is affirmed its the spanish media who are painting a rather defusing picture of him, as he believes he is still ‘one of the best goalkeepers’ in the world.
Speaking to the media, Courtois said: “I still consider myself one of the best goalkeepers, even though the Spanish press wants to kill me,”
“I feel very strong, I’m calm because I train well and play well.”
On his[Courtois] mistake: “[Artem] Dzyuba nudges me and I ran out of strength to clear the ball.
“It was a little mistake, but that’s the goalkeeper’s life. Despite that, afterwards I kept calm and played my game.”
