Real Madrid have received fresh hopes over a deal for Kylian Mbappe, as PSG’s sporting director refused to rule out a possible exit for the forward.
It’s no news, Real Madrid are interested in signing Kylian Mbappe, as the club made it known and had only backed down, out of respect for the club.
Mbappe had thrown his future in doubt, following claims he could be interested in a new project elsewhere. However, PSG seem to have successfully secured the Frenchman for at least one more season, having stated that the forward will remain at the club, “2000 per cent”.
While Leonardo admitted that Mbappe was a top priority, and a very important player to Paris Saint Germain, he was unwilling to offer any promise over the club being able to tie the young forward down to a new contract.
“There’s no doubt he’s a priority for us or not. Mbappe is here and he is very important to the club, there’s no question about it,” he told Le Parisien .
“When training resumed on Monday, he arrived with a great attitude – a big smile on his face.
“As always. He’s very charismatic, the fans love him. It’s important to have a player like him in the team – one who’s young and always happy and smiling.”
However, when quizzed on keeping Kylian Mbappe, Leonardo replied: “I never make promises for two reasons.
“Firstly because I am not the person who is responsible for everything that happens at this club and secondly, I don’t want to throw promises up into the air without being sure that they can be kept.
“I’m only interested in reality, and what we know for sure today.”
Paris Saint Germain are on a two-way battle, as they could be set to lose Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr to Real Madrid and Barcelona in the future. The latter, refusing to report for the club’s pre season training over a certain pre arranged commitments, or so they say.
