Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The striker has been the proprietor of every Arsenal’s success story. But is seemingly growing tired of playing for the club, after several seasons of mediocre performances.
Aubameyang is certain to be a huge name in the summer window. With reports Real Madrid have joined the league of suitors looking to sign the Gabonese striker, and one of the many being rivals Barcelona.
The striker has 18 months left on his current contract, putting his future at the Emirates in doubt, after he rejected an opportunity to extend his contract.
According to The Time (via thewistle), Real Madrid would be willing to include a player in any deal that would see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang head for the Bernabeu. The report naming Luka Jovic as the most possible candidate in a player plus cash deal.
The striker joined Real Madrid in the summer but is yet to prove his worth, having dropped below French striker Karim Benzema in an instant.
Real Madrid want a goalscorer, someone to rely on in the absence of Karim Benzema. And they believe Aubameyang has the qualities, having maintained his status at Arsenal, despite the club’s continuous failure to capitalize on any of his goal-scoring exploits.
The Gabonese striker joined Arsenal in the winter of 2018 for €63.75m. And has since then gone on to score an impressive 53 goals in 83 appearances for the club, including 10 in 15 matches this season.
However, with the Champions League constantly eluding the team, and for the lack of improvement. The striker’s future at the Emirates is a major doubt, with the club is likely to be open to offers for the unsettled player if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
