Raheem Sterling is raining fire and brimstone, as the England international has constantly proved he deserves to be named as one the best in the business.
The 24-year-old is too humble to claim his crown, admitting he is in no place to be compared with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Based on statistics in the past 10 – 15 years, surely Raheem Sterling has no place near the prime gods of football. But in recent times, few can compare to the lethal Manchester City winger.
Last season saw Sterling score a total of 25 goals, as well as providing 18 assists in 51 games. The season before saw him not far behind on 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 games.
Raheem Sterling is almost certain to shatter his record in the past two years. With the left-winger already at 13 goals and 5 assists in just 14 appearances for Manchester City this season.
Sterling continues to set the standard in the Premier League, but it’s the winger’s consistency that sets him apart from the rest. A trait that as well set Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi apart from the world.
We have often wondered what the football world would become beyond Ronaldo and Messi. But with the likes of Sterling proving capable to carry the mantle, there is hope the records aren’t locked away never to be broken in our time.
