Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been approached by PSG over a potential move to the Ligue 1 champions as a replacement for veteran striker Edinson Cavani.
Paris Saint Germain had revealed in the week, that striker Edison Cavani has asked to leave the club, and a deal is now believed to be in the workings.
According to reports, Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea have both shown interest in the player. But, it seems the striker has his eyes set for the Wanda Metropolitano, home to Atletico Madrid.
In the event that a deal is completed in the winter window and Edison Cavani leaves. PSG may target a replacement, and based on reports from FootMercato (via TheExpress) it would most likely be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Apparently, the Arsenal striker isn’t particularly keen on remaining at his current club. And despite assuring fans of his status, he could still leave for a suitable offer. With Barcelona also a possible destination.
With 16 goals for Arsenal so far this tenure, the Gabon international is easily the Gunners’ best players through the campaign.
Arsenal would be hoping PSG’s striker Edison Cavani fails to secure a move this winter, as the possibility of a potential deal for Aubameyang alone could cripple the club and Mikel Arteta, through the second half of the season.
The report, however, claims Aubameyang’s camp have met with PSG to discuss a potential loan move until the end of the season, with an option to buy.
