Pochettino is relishing a Champions League fixture against Quadruple chasing Manchester City, as the Champions League convenes for the Quarter finals of this season’s competition.
City have already bagged their first trophy of the season (EFL CUP) and are very much at the summit of every other competition.
However, Mauricio Pochettino isn’t buying into the game, and is hoping to squeeze the air out of Pep Guardiola and his City side, even if he has “to start being tough and aggressive”.
When asked if his first Champions League quarter-final was the biggest game of his life, Pochettino said: “Yes – as a coach, yes.
“For us it’s a bonus to be here, to have the possibility to play in the quarter-finals with all the circumstances, and the objective is to be in the semi-final.”
“City are a very, very good team and it’s going to be tough, the games against him… sorry, them.
“We need to start being tough and aggressive, put a high tempo on the game and hope the atmosphere will be tough for our opponents.”
Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester City three times in the next four matches, only separated from the first by a weekend fixture against Huddersfield. And Mauricio Pochettino would be hoping to dent the citizens, on both the European and domestic competition.
