Philippe Coutinho could be set to join Premier League side Chelsea in the summer, as the Brazilian continues search for a life away from the Camp Nou.
Phil’s proposed Marquee move to Barcelona, has been an abject failure, and the catalan club would be willing to sell the former Liverpool man. But only if his €130 million asking price is met.
Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United have both been linked with securing the Brazilian’s signature. However, whilst PSG are very much a possible destination, the red devils are unlikely to spend as much as €130m to secure the Barcelona flop.
Chelsea on the other hand, are likely to part ways with club talisman Eden Hazard, with Real Madrid ready to pounce on the Belgian winger, and reports are now linking the West London blues to investing heavily on Philippe as a replacement for Hazard.
According to Sport-English, “Coutinho would be delighted to move to Stamford Bridge, where there’s already a Brazilian enclave: Emerson, Jorginho, Willian and David Luiz. He would accept the challenge of leading in the absence of Hazard, one of the local fans’ idols.”
Coutinho is very much familiar with the concept of playing in the Premier League, and would need little to no time to adapt to the League he once graced in the famous Merseyside reds outfit, before sealing his move to Barcelona.
