Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned Manchester United, they ‘won’t get away with playing like’ they did against Westham, when they face Barcelona in the return leg of the Champions League quarter-finals fixture at Camp Nou.
Man United edged a nervy game against Westham, thanks to two penalty goals from Paul Pogba, and Solskjaer agrees United need to improve to get a chance against the Catalan side.
“We rested a couple, thankfully, we got through it and we will be ready for Tuesday. With a performance like this we all know we will struggle in Barcelona, and we will have to improve.
“We won’t get away with playing like that against Barcelona. We have to have a better performance to stand a chance at the Nou Camp.
“We got away with it. I know it is not easy because we played on Wednesday and we made a few changes. They deserved to get their goals but we are allowed to have a good goalkeeper.
“Of course, we have a game on Tuesday night too which may have played on the player’s minds, but I’m not sure why we played last Wednesday and then we play next Tuesday. That is my little complaint to Uefa.
“There have been two games away recently where we have played well and not got what we deserved but the last two games at home against Watford and West Ham we probably got what we didn’t deserve, so it evens itself out over the season.”
