Ronaldo is still at the apex of the game, emerging as the last three nominees for the UEFA Best player award, alongside Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winners has been nothing but absolute success through his footballing career. However, all that could be coming to an end, as Cristiano Ronaldo hinted he could leave his career next year.

“I don’t think about that,” Ronaldo told TVI on Tuesday.

“Maybe I can leave my career next year … but I can also play up to 40 or 41.

“I don’t know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it.”

Alongside five ballon d’Or awards, Ronaldo has as many Champions League titles, among other trophies he’s gathered through his time at Manchester United, Real Madrid and currently Juventus.

If there is anything we know about Cristiano Ronaldo, is that his records and history are particularly important to him. They are a backbone to his success, and the Portuguese forward let out on a few words about them.

“Are there any soccer players who have more records than me?” he asked.

“I don’t think there are any footballers who have more records than me.”
