Nightmare start for Chelsea, as Manchester United run riot

A dream start for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United, who kicked off the season with an outstanding 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford 18′ (P), 67′ , Anthony Martial 65′ and Daniel James 81′, all got on the score sheet. As United raised the bar further for Frank Lampard, who is already faced with a tedious task in his first season.

The tale wasn’t all Manchester United though, as Chelsea were the better of the two earlier in the game. With the blues only dented by a penalty, as Zouma was found wanting against Marcus Rashford.

Man Utd finished the first half, leading by a single goal, as question marks were raised on a rather weak attack, and a midfield which was constantly over run, and beaten too easily.

The second half was however a whole different story, as Manchester United came out outright winners. Anthony martial finishing off a cross from Andreas Perreira to put United in the comfort zone.

Two minutes later, and Man Utd were sailing freely at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba let loose a sublime ball, which was wonderfully finished by Rashford to put United three ahead.

New signing Daniel James was the next to get on the score sheet. As Manchester United tore Chelsea in pieces, to go second and behind neighbours Manchester City on the League table.

It’s work done for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who got off to a winning start. For Frank Lampard, it’s obvious there are a thousand pieces missing and a lot of job to be done, if the West London blues are to survive the season without a deep scar.
