Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard has joined forces with Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola according to reports from Metro.
Lingard has struggled for form this season and has as a result seen his game time reduced. With the England international having failed to register a single goal or assist in the Premier League over the whole of 2019.
The winger is out of contract at the end of the season, with no talks or a contract renewal, and has now reportedly been talking with super-agent Raiola according to Daily Mail, in hope that a move away could boost his chances with England.
Raiola has been at war with Manchester United and Solskjaer, a case worsened in recent days, when the agent once again spoke ill of the manager and the club.
“Pogba’s problem is Manchester United. It’s a club out of touch with reality and without a sporting project,” Raiola said.
“I wouldn’t take anyone there, they would even ruin [Diego] Maradona, Pele and [Paolo] Maldini. Paul needs a club and a squad, one like Juventus was before.”
Solskjaer had hit back at the agent, as well as underlined the relationship between Paul Pogba, his agent and the club.
So about Jesse Lingard…
While Manchester United may have to worry about losing Paul Pogba, after all, he is a world-class midfielder and could easily walk into any team even in a formless state, Jesse Lingard won’t dare to.
To boost his chances with England, Lingard would have to take a leap of faith down the league table and possibly the league tier to secure a better game, with the form he’s in at the moment.
Frankly speaking, Lingard would be the very type of player Manchester United should and must consider getting rid of. Solskjaer needs fruition going forward, and he won’t get that fielding the likes of Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, and co on match days.
With Paul Pogba, Solskjaer can state a case of quality and lack of a proper replacement. But Jesse Lingard has none of that and genuinely isn’t the kind of player whose input echoes for a replacing when not available.
If Jesse wants out, then, by all means, he should be shown the way out as quick as possible. United need more than just players, Solskjaer needs quality, and unfortunately, Jesse Lingard isn’t that by a long shot.
If we are all being honest, then we’d know it’s not just Jesse, but a whole bunch of players Solskjaer should consider letting go of before the summer.
Smalling, Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku have made way, but that’s only a piece of the puzzle won.
If Solskjaer has any chance of ever challenging for a title while at Manchester United, then we may all agree that at the very least, the likes of Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic and to some extent Andreas Pereira must leave and better players recruited by the club.
