Man Utd told to dump Solskjaer in favour of Allegri

Former Liverpool defender and ESPN pundit, Steve Nicol has advised Manchester United to ditch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and hire Massimiliano Allegri this summer.

Allegri has been relieved of his duties at Juventus, with the club announcing on Friday that the manager would not be at the club next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finished the season outside the top four, despite the manager’s early surge while he occupied a caretaker role at the club.

Solskjaer is expected to head a massive overhaul of the United squad in the summer window, but ESPN’s Steve Nicol would most likely spearhead an exit for Ole in favour of Massimiliano Allegri if he was given the opportunity.

“I know there’s the human element in it.But really?” He said.

“Who would you rather have as your manager, Allegri or Solskjaer?

“Seriously, it’s no contest”

Despite successive failure in the Champions League, Allegri still has an impressive résumé on display, having won the Serie A trophy consistently in his time with the Old Lady’s.
