Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a €50 million deal with Porto to sign Brazilian defender Eder Militao.
Militao, 21, has been in fine form for Porto since his £6.30 million move from São Paulo in 2018. And has attracted interests from several clubs, with the defender previously linked with Manchester United in the winter window.
However, according to reports from Globo via Metro, ‘Militao will be Madrid’s first summer signing for Zinedine Zidane after the Spanish club agreed to pay his €50m buyout clause. With the Brazilian defender claimed to have agreed a six-year contract with Madrid and had a medical in Portugal on Monday.
Militao, has scored three goals and provided two assists in 34 appearances for the Portuguese side, and can feature as a center back, a defensive midfielder and right back.
Eder Militao is set to become Zidane’s first recruitment, following a £300 million transfer promise from Real Madrid to convince the Frenchman to return to the dugout at the Santiago Bernabau.
The Los Blancos are also strongly linked with deals for Chelsea’s talisman Eden Hazard and Inter’s unsettled striker Mauro Icardi, as they plan for a massive squad overhaul in the summer transfer window.
