Manchester United are reportedly set to pay up a massive €115 million transfer fee for Barça star Philippe Coutinho.
According to Sport, “Philippe Coutinho has had enough. He doesn’t feel he can continue at Barcelona, where he arrived as a star but his role has decreased alarmingly. It seems only Ernesto Valverde still believes in him, although less all the time as he fails to take advantage of each opportunity handed to him.”
The much-anticipated Coutinho project at Barcelona has been an abject failure, with the Catalan club now looking to offload the Brazilian in the summer should a reasonable bid be made for the player.
Reports claim Phil has spoken with several Manchester United players, asking if their was a chance he could make a Premier league return to Old Trafford.
Coutinho has featured in 39 matches for Barcelona this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. And is still under a long-term which expires in 2023.
Philippe Coutinho’s ideal Premier League return would be to join former club Liverpool. However, with the circumstances surrounding his move to Barcelona in 2018. It’s unlikely he will ever be welcomed with open arms to Anfield.
