Liverpool 0-0 Man City | Rihad Mahrez missed penalty ensure lack lustre fixture ends in stalemate
The Much anticipated fixture between Liverpool and Manchester City has come and gone. And frankly speaking, it was no where near block buster or anything of that sort.
It was simply an evenly matched lack lustre fixture between both sides which surprisingly ended by either team only seeing two shots on and off target for a prospective attacking game.
The first half finished with either team failing to muster a shot on target for 45 minutes, while the second half was also as boring as the first.
Manchester city however had a few penalty appeals waved off until Virgil Van Dijk brought down Leroy San in the 85th minute to present City with a golden chance to take all three points.
Summer signing Rihad Mahrez however sent his spot kick blazing wide as the game finished square for both teams.
The draw however sees the Premier League table rather funny as the top three teams are only separated by goal difference.
Manchester City remain top of the log on 20 points and 18 goal difference, Chelsea on the other hand also have 20 points but 13 goal difference, while Liverpool are on 20 goals and 12 goal difference and now in third.
