Sergej Milinkovic-Savic may be far less effective than he was in the previous season which saw him emerge as a major transfer prospect, but seems that isn’t enough to keep him off the cheque books.
An impressive 14 goals and nine assists in the last campaign, saw the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea all linked to the player. However, following a rather outrageous demand from the club, Sergej failed to secure a move, and he eventually renewed with the club until 2023.
Lazio may have succeeded in extending Sergej’s stay on paper and pen, but the midfielder’s days are numbered, as Juventus are believed to have enlisted the 24-year-old as a possible target, and are prepared to offer Colombian forward Juan Cuadrado in a player plus cash deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Savic has found the net of five occasions so far in the season, and provided four assists in the process. And while the player’s transfer fee has seemingly dropped from its previously proposed €120 million in the previous summer, the midfielder is still bound to cost a fortune – a figure around €86m it seems.
Juventus are hopeful, the inclusion of Cuadrado would help push a deal through, as well as probably halve the fee demanded. The Old Lady’s are however likely face quite competition for the 24-year-old, who despite not repeating the feat he managed in the previous season, still proves to be a lucrative deal for the summer.
