Juventus clearly one step ahead with Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo once again popped up from the crowd, this time to seal a much needed victory for his Juventus side against AC Milan for the super cup at Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese 61st minute header, was the only goal of the match as Cristiano Ronaldo clinched the win for his first Juventus trophy in what proved to be the lowest scoring super cup final in 12 years.

Where ever he goes, trophies follow and surely it’s come to Juventus this time. Contrast to Real Madrid who were lucky to have progressed for the night despite defeat to Leganes in a Copa del Rey fixture which saw Keylor Navas the most important face and one of the few positives of his former deteriorating club squad.

“We signed Cristiano Ronaldo because he is decisive and scores big goals,” Massimiliano Allegri said to Rai sport after the game.

The attitude is what keeps him apart from the rest, always eager to improve, to go one step further from greatness. A trait which had been well described by many including Alex Ferguson as characteristic to his successfully career.

Whilst celebrating his first trophy with the Old Lady’s, Cristiano Ronaldo was clearly looking forward to another with his Serie A side.

“It was my intention to start 2019 with a trophy, I have my first title with Juve and I am very happy.” He said

“But it is only the start, we will take it one step at a time. We’ve got this trophy, now we must keep working hard to achieve the next one.”

“Serie A is always Juve’s main objective,”

“We are top of the table, but it’s a very long tournament and it’s going to be tough, so we need to keep working.”

Ronaldo’s strike against Milan, was his 16th in all competitions for Juventus, which further boosts his stats in just his first season with the old lady’s along with eight assists so far for the Portuguese icon.

Next stop for Juventus after their trophy win, is a Serie A fixture against bottom league side Chievo Verona as the Old Lady’s look to continue what has proved to be an already impressive season.
