Borussia Dortmund have their sights set on securing Jose Mourinho, should current manager Lucien Favre fail to get the yellow outfits back to form.
The Bundesliga giants have struggled for form and consistency so far this season, taking just 15 points from a possible 24 in eight matches.
According to reports, the club hierarchy are already exploring the option of securing a new manager, and Jose Mourinho is a potential candidate to step in, as per SportBild.
Jose Mourinho has been out of a managerial job since December 2018 when he was relieved of his duties at Manchester United. The Portuguese admits his desire to return to the dugout, but insists he would only join a team with a plan and structure.
Borussia Dortmund apparently ticks the box for Jose Mourinho, who has talked up the possibility of coaching in the Bundesliga.
“I think the Bundesliga really interesting,” Mourinho said in a recent SportBild interview. “I admire the work of BVB and his attempt to compete with a giant like Bayern.”
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho is also a serious candidate for Zinedine Zidane’s role at Real Madrid. With the Frenchman also struggling to get the Los Blancos back to form, following his return in the summer.
