Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has denied any claims, that Napoli are interested in Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
Inter Milan have made their intentions clear on Mauro Icardi, revealing the club has no intention of keeping the Argentine striker beyond the summer. Icardi has since then been linked with multiple clubs, including Juventus, Manchester United and most recently Napoli.
However, the Naples have followed in Juventus’ path, to rubbish claims the club is a potential destination for the unsettled striker.
“It is a colossal, enormous stupidity,” De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“I met Wanda Nara three years ago and I have no intention of meeting her again.
“That meeting was enough. Also because Icardi is not a part of the current needs of Napoli.”
Napoli chief De Laurentiis, would however take joy to discuss about another potential deal, with James Rodriguez set to switch camps this summer.
James has no place in Zinedine Zidane’s team for next season, and while Napoli have expressed their decision to secure the player, Laurentiis claims Real Madrid are demanding too much for the playmaker.
“James is in our hearts, especially in the hearts of those who coach him better than anyone else, Ancelotti,” He said.
“James’s problem is that we have to deal with Real Madrid. We are tough, we do not want to yield to the unjust demands of Real Madrid.
“We are not in a hurry because our team is already very strong. We only have to make great deals, nothing special.
“The deals are made in two, between those who want to buy and those who want to sell. We want to buy, but we don’t want to take risks.”
