Inter Milan sporting director Beppe Marotta has confirmed that Radja Nainggolan and Mauro Icardi will not part of the club’s plan for next season.
According to reports, Inter had offered Manchester United both players in a bid to convince the Premier League side to let Romelu Lukaku join the club this summer. However, it was claimed that the red devils rejected this offer.
In an interview to Sky Italia, Marotta however confirmed both players are not expected to remain at San Siro next season, as they are not part of the manager’s plan.
“Nainggolan and Icardi? We need clarity and transparency. They’re great players and talent, but it’s not enough.” He said.
“They are not part of our project, I say this with transparency and respect. Icardi is on the market. But we respect the contractual agreements.”
Whether or not, this confirms the Italian side have found a common ground with Manchester United or any other suitor, we are yet to confirm. One thing is certain though, Inter do not expect both players to feature under new manager Antonio Conte.
