Jadon Sancho has opened up on his £10 million move from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund, revealing it was best for him, and has no regrets over his decision.

Sancho put to bed the rumours, revealing he will “always love” Pep Guardiola, but felt joining the German side was best for his professional development.

The 19-year-old has been a massive addition to Borussia Dortmund, having impressed last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 19 assists for the club. The England international is now worth ten times more than he arrived at the Signal Iduna Park and is now wanted by several European clubs.

Jadon Sancho, recalling his time at the Etihad, has thanked the club and City manager Pep Guardiola for playing a key role in his rise to fame, as well as offering an insight on why he decided to leave Manchester City.

“When I left City, people doubted me. They said: ‘Oh, you shouldn’t leave Pep Guardiola’. But I thought it was best for me,” he told Soccer Bible.

“I’ll always love Pep and the club because they signed me from Watford and helped me to develop into who I am today, and of course I’m also grateful to Dortmund. I’ve been able to take the next step there.

“I’m thankful to everyone who has been part of my journey so far.”

Jadon Sancho is wanted by Manchester United. However, the red devils failed to qualify for the Champions League, and so the race was abandoned for the summer.

Sancho has made his way to the limelight, but still has some way to go to solidify his place among the elites of the game. However, Jadon is only motivated by his critics, who he says can’t wait to call him ‘a one-hit wonder’ and will work hard to maintain his ‘usual high-level next season.’

He added: “It’s crazy what’s happened because I’m still only 19 and things like that usually happen when you’re 23 or 24. Now it’s about keeping that level.”

“People are waiting for me to dip so they can say I’m a one-hit wonder.

“I just need to keep playing and hope I stay clear of injuries. I just have to keep working hard and helping the team. That’s the main thing.”
