James Rodriguez has revealed he is quite happy at Bayern Munich and is open to stay with the club permanently beyond his loan deal from Real Madrid.
James – whose future has been in doubt – has been linked with returning to Real Madrid. However, after helping Bayern Munich to a win, scoring a hat trick in the process, Rodriguez revealed he was happy and comfortable. But also admitted nothing was official yet, while speaking to sport1.
“Nobody knows what the future brings,” James said. “The clubs will hold talks.
“I’m very happy and I feel comfortable here. Kovac is a good coach, I am sure we can still win many titles with him.”
Bayern president Uli Hoeness had stated that the decision would be left for Niko Kovac, and “It all depends on what Kovac says and whether he wants him[James] or not.”
However, for the time being, Niko Kovac is simply happy to be back to the summit of the Bundesliga competition, despite only separated from Borussia Dortmund by just a superior goal difference.
“That we are first again, that makes us happy. There was a lot of width today, a lot of spirit, lots of good actions,” Kovac said.
“We had a very good start. That’s important after the disappointing match on Wednesday, that the team showed such a good reaction.
“We could shake the disappointment off together. We can go into the international break calm now, and hope that everyone comes back healthy.”
