Antoine Griezmann’s release clause may have dropped from €200m to a more affordable €120m. However, Barcelona seem to have moved on from the French world cup winner, following rudely rejected interests according to Marca.
Griezmann has been a long time target for Spanish rivals Barcelona and Premier League side Manchester United. However, the striker opted to stay with Atletico Madrid and it seems Barça aren’t in the mood to be rejected twice, so won’t be giving Griezmann a second opportunity.
France teammate Samuel Umtiti, says he “would be glad if Griezmann came to Barcelona”, as he has a place there, but also revealed he has made no contact whatsoever with the player concerning the move.
Antoine Griezmann replied, while speaking to the Daily Evening, saying it’s the same every year and also revealed he was used to it, and “a little bit fed up” too.
Barcelona on the other hand, want no part in the drama and would rather turn their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic, who according to reports have been under watch by the Barça technical secretariat
Griezmann is tied to the Wanda Metropolitano until 2023, but his stay with [Atletico]Madrid could be cut short by other suitors other than Barcelona, including the likes of Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, Manchester United and Bayern Munich who have all been previously linked with securing the 28-year-old’s signature.
