Cesc Fabregas is hoping for a Champions League return with new club AS Monaco, following a dreadful season for the Ligue 1 outfits.
The midfielder joiner AS Monaco from Chelsea in the winter window under the supervision of former manager Thierry Henry, as the club battled to climb over the relegation zone.
However, following Henry’s dismissal from the principality side, former manager Leonardo Jardim was re-signed and so has a bit of Monaco’s fortunes.
AS Monaco currently sit 16th on the League table, seven points above relegation, and Cesc Fabregas has revealed the club’s objective for the next season.
“Yes, next year, our aim is to finish on the podium and to get back into the Champions League,” He said.
“The club has already been very clear about the future, we are not here to enjoy the quality of life and take it slow.
“Now, we must stay in Ligue 1 then next year qualify for the next Champions’ League. This year is an exception.
“We know that it is difficult to fight against PSG but we want to be the best team after them, that is our principal objective for next season.”
