Arsenal boss Unai Emery has spoken on French wonder Kylian Mbappe, revealing his[Mbappe] desire to join Real Madrid has also been an issue during his time as PSG manager.
Kylian Mbappe has been heavily linked to joining the Spanish side, following Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club. And had recently fueled speculations a move could be possible, hinting it could be time to switch projects.
“I feel it’s time to have more responsibility. I hope it may be Paris Saint-Germain, it will be with great pleasure, or it may be elsewhere for a new project, but I would like to say thank you.” Kylian said.
While the Ligue 1 Champions League insist Mbappe will stay at Paris beyond the season. Former manager Unai Emery has revealed Mbappe’s desire to join Real Madrid was also a major issue in his final season in 2017-18, with the club eventually persuading the forward to stay.
“At some point, everyone pushed at PSG,” Unai Emery told Cadena SER. “I even talked to him and his father to stay.
“He wanted to choose Real Madrid, he also had a chance at Barcelona, but he wanted Madrid eyes closed.
“Among everybody we convinced him about the project in France and made him stay. We had to set money over the table, and that’s what we did.”
