WILFRIED ZAHA finally broke the goalless deadlock at 70 minutes  in what was his fifth goal in six games.

Crystal Palace’s lead was doubled just eight minutes later as Patrick van Aanholt found the back of the net after being instrumental in Zaha’s first goal too.

Zaha’s shot was a right-footed strike from the centre of the box that rolled into the bottom right corner.

West Brom respond to the goal by bringing on Daniel Sturrudge to replace Jay Rodriguez, but it wasn’t quite enough.

Patrick van Aanholt may have provided the assist for Zaha to up his goal tally, but he ensured he made his way onto the score sheet too.

It was a historical day at Selhurst Park for many reasons as Roy Hodgon took his side to 10th position in the Premier League, which equals their highest finish managed in 2014/15.

Legendary commentator John Motson also held the mic for the last time in his career, but the sheepskin coat was nowhere to be seen.

Darren Moore may have won the manager of the month thanks to a recent improvement in West Brom’s form, but he hasn’t been afforded enough time and it was just too little too late as his side will be playing their trade in the Championship next season.
