Chelsea 0-2 Manchester city was the score line at the end of the community shield fixture as manager Maurizio Sarri succumbed to his first lose as a chelsea managee
The community shield has ended and it was not in favour of chelsea or new coach Sarri as it finished chelsea 0-2 Manchester cityto hand the new boss his first official defeat as a chelsea manager.
Chelsea were left chasing the game just 13 minutes after kick off when sergio Aguero scored his 200th career goal for the citizens and then put the game beyond the reach of the London blues in the 58th minute after been put through by Bernado Silva.
Chelsea could only manage a single shot on target in 90 minutes as compared to their opponents eight shots on goal. The manager still has whole lot of work to do and it may get worse with the possibility of the team losing player just before the transfer window closes.
Maurizio Sarri’s preferred formation has always been the 4-3-3 and while chelsea has an abundance of reliable players in defence and midfield, the attack is probably and issue. Eden hazard, Willian and pedro are all great players but are naturally wingers. Chelsea’s two main strikers in Olivier Giroud and Alvaro morata are quite unreliable. Sarri may yet be more involved the transfer business than he had thought, with a striker and possibly a goal keeper expected if Thibaut cout completes a move to Real Madrid.
