Callum Hudson-Odoi: Chelsea confident of keeping injured star

With no means of recruiting in the summer, Chelsea’s biggest task was to keep the players they already had, one of which included young star Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The winger is a fine specimen for the future. One that Bayern Munich were seriously interested in harvesting, and grooming into a star.

The Bundesliga Giants have been chasing the winger for a while now, with Chelsea happily doing the job of rejecting deal after deal. And were seemingly aided by an injury to the young star in April, which kept his name at the minimal through the summer.

Chelsea have not particularly started the season in a strong fashion. With Frank Lampard yet to wrap his hands around his new tough job at the Stamford bridge.

Callum Hudson-Odoi could return to action after international break.

According to Oliver Harbord on football.london,  ‘There are no fears over his [Callum Hudson-Odoi] departure.

‘There doesn’t seem now at all that there is a fear he will be leaving the club, like there was back in January.

‘With the new project under Frank Lampard, Hudson-Odoi is going to get his chances in the first team and he is ready to commit his long-term future.

‘There is only just when the deal is going to be announced, which could coincide with his return to action.’

With Frank Lampard lacking in squad depth, Callum Hudson-Odoi will almost definitely secure a better game time. What better chance to stamp his place on the blues starting lineup than now, as Lampard continues to draw up a plan for when the transfer ban is eventually lifted.
