Borussia Dortmund to challenge Bayern Munich for Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi

Borussia Dortmund have emerged as rivals to Bayern Munich in the race to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in the summer.

Bayern Munich, failed multiple times in their attempt to lure Hudson-Odoi to the Allianz arena in the winter, after seeing several bids including a £35 million offer for the young star turned down by Chelsea. Odoi went as far as tabling a transfer request which was also rejected but the club who hoped to keep the new-found talent beyond the current season.

Fast forward to few months later, and Callum Hudson-Odoi is yet to commit to life at the Stamford bridge, with a £70,000-a-week salary probably still up for grabs in the summer should he complete a move to the Bundesliga side.

However, Bayern Munich may have it tough in the summer, with rivals Borussia Dortmund aiming to also snatch the right-winger as a proposed replacement to Jadon Sancho who could quit the famous yellow outfits for £100 million in the summer.

Dortmund are braced with the possibility of losing both Christian Pulisic – who joins Chelsea following a £58 million move winter deal – and now Jadon Sancho who is a stern target for Premier League side Manchester United & French Ligue 1’s Paris Saint Germain.

Chelsea are seemingly reluctant to let Callum Hudson-Odoi leave, and time is definitely running out. With the West London blues club yet to convince the 18-year-old to extend his contract which expires in the 2020 and now almost looks certain to leave.

Callum has scored and assisted six times for the club this season, and could be forced to see out his contract at the Chelsea, following a transfer ban which leaves the West London blues unable to sign a replacement in the summer should the 18-year-old leave.
