Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in Manchester United and Chelsea target Gareth Bale, with the Bundesliga side looking to beat the Premier League duo to the Welshman’s signature in the summer according to Metro.
Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid, is likely to see the Los Blancos side flush out a few big names, with the likes of James Rodriguez, Kovacic and Gareth Bale likely to be sold at the end of the season to fund moves for summer targets Eden Hazard, Neymar and Christian Eriksen.
Gareth Bale has been subject to a transfer for sometime now, with the Welshman heavily linked with Manchester United whilst Jose Mourinho was in charge.
The red devils are still believed to be considering a deal for the 29-year-old along with Premier League rivals Chelsea. However, Bayern Munich are hoping to oust both clubs to secure the right-winger in the summer.
According to the report, ‘Bayern have been in discussions with Real over the future of on-loan star James Rodriguez and were reportedly made aware of Bale’s availability during these conversations.’
If the Columbian is eventually set free, ‘the German side will need to replace him, and they see Bale as an ideal candidate to do so.’
Despite having a rather underwhelming season since a proposed rise following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure for Juventus. Gareth Bale has managed 14 goals in 35 appearances for the Los Blancos this season, providing five assists in the process for teammates.
Bale is tied to a long-term Madrid contract which expires in 2022, with the Welshman likely to command a hefty least of €70 million in the transfer window.
