Bayern Munich just can’t stop thinking about Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, despite the player’s recent injury.
The Bundesliga side were seriously interested in sealing a deal for the 18-year-old English international in the winter window, but missed out thanks to a stubborn Chelsea, despite the player handing in a transfer request and Bayern Munich submitting over three formal bids for the winger.
A futile chase in the winter, meant Bayern Munich were expected back at the end of the season for the player. However, Odoi suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in Monday’s 2-2 draw with Burnley and is set to miss out on several months of football, including the start of the next Premier League season as well.
The Injury could deter a proposed move to Bayern Munich in the summer, but Hoeness has revealed the club just can’t stop thinking about the 18-year-old and would wait to see what the future holds.
“Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Hasan Salihamidzic have said that he is an interesting player,” Hoeness said.
“I think we keep thinking about it. But he’s just on the operating table. Therefore it makes no sense to comment on this.”
Callum Hudson-Odoi is contracted to the West London blues until 2020, and with the club having failed to convince him to renew his contract in the past year. It’s almost certain the winger would be leaving the Stamford bridge in the summer, or as a free agent at the end of next season.
