Barcelona 1-1 Atletico Bilbao | Fans angered by Barca Lineup as they lose valuable two points
Barcelona lost yet another point when they went up against Atletico Bilbao, making it the third winless game in a row for the Catalans after the draw against Girona last week and a loss against Leganes in the mid week.
Fans were some sort angered with the lineup by Ernesto valverde as the manager left out Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets for such an important game against Atletico Bilbao.
Barcelona were soon paying the consequences for Ernesto Valverde’s test run as Atletico Bilbao took the lead in the 41st minute at camp nou when Oscar de Marcos’ first-time finish found the back post from a Markel Susaeta’s cross.
Early in the second half and Ernesto Valverde started calling in the shots as Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets were introduced in the 55th and 51st minute of the game.
Lionel Messi came close to getting the job done for the Catalans as he struck the post as well as going close with a free kick. However, it was the other substitute who eventually came to Barcelona’s rescue.
Second half substitute Munir El Haddadi poked in from Messi’s low cross in the 84th minute to hand Barcelona a much needed equalizer.
Philippe coutinho came quite close as the brazilian struck the crossbar before Suarez wasted the follow up as the game finished on a point for both teams.
The draw sees Barcelona continue their winless run for a third match in a row and miss a chance to put a firm grip on the la Liga with Real Madrid playing Atletico Madrid. Barcelona’s one week seven point loss sees them on 14 points after seven la Liga games this season.
