North London club Arsenal, will reportedly revive their interest in Chinese Super League winger Yannick Carrasco, having missed out on his signature in the winter.
The Gunners were believed to be close to agreeing loan terms with the 25-year-old, with an option to buy at the end of the season. However, Carrasco’s heavy salary was too much for Arsenal and the deal immediately broke off.
Yannick is fed up with China, and is keen to return to European football, with Arsenal set to offer a way out in the summer. Carrasco would however have to take a pay cut from his current £8.8m a year deal to join the Premier League side
The winger’s move to the Chinese Super league was a rather shock to the football world, having being an integral part of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid team and even tipped to join the battle as one of the leading names in club football along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and a few more.
Carrasco is signed to Super league side DL Yifang until 2022, with the Belgian international valued at a certain €20m as per Transfermarkt.
Arsenal are seemingly not alone in the chase for the winger, with Italian Serie A duo Inter and AC Milan also set to launch a summer bid for Yannick Carrasco.
