Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has confirmed his imminent departure from the Spanish club this summer.
According to previous reports, the Frenchman was to meet with Simeone, Berta and Gil Marin today to talk about his future and the rumours about the imminent departure to Barcelona.
However, in a recent tweet from Antoine Griezmann’s official account, the Frenchman has now confirmed he will be ending his five-year stay as a Rojiblancos player, thanking the club for everything.
Since moving to Atletico Madrid for £27 million from Real Sociedad in 2014, Antoine Griezmann has played 256 games, scoring 133 goals and providing 50 assists in the process. The 28-year-old won a UEFA Super Cup trophy, Spanish super cup and a Europa League trophy in his five years at the club.
Griezmann’s most probable destination following his announcement has been marked as Barcelona, with the Catalans reportedly ready to pay his €125 million release clause.
