Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be left a bit disappointed after Manchester United let in a late goal against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

However, there were a thousand positives to take from the fixture, and like Solskjaer had said; this is indeed the perfect game to turn things around for his struggling side.

For a side that has found scoring quite difficult, Manchester United largely improved over the international break to almost hold off Premier League leaders Liverpool to a stop, until at least they let in the equalizer.

Solskjaer could build on Sunday’s draw against the Merseyside reds, but the red devils would have to show consistency. A trait they have lacked for a long time now.

Marcus Rashford could do more in positioning, and Anthony Martial could get involved more. As for Daniel James, it’s almost all green flags for the Wales star, and what a wonderful run and assist to give United the lead.

There is still work to be done, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could really use some new faces by January. But with the showing against Liverpool, just maybe Manchester United won’t have to wait 30 years to win the Premier League again.

It wasn’t perfect, but it was a job well done to keep the Old Trafford feat flying. Liverpool may be high and mighty at the moment, but some things never change, at least not Old Trafford.
