About lady Shri Ram College, Delhi:

Lady Shri Ram College, affiliated under the University of Delhi, is one of the leading all-women educational institutes within the country.

Founded by Sir Shri Ram in 1956 in the memory of his wife, the college has been a pioneer in women’s higher education and set marks in the fields of Humanities, Social Science, and commerce. Besides, the college also offers a bachelor’s degree in statistics and various other professional courses like Elementary education and journalism.

The college is located in a 15-acre campus in South Delhi with a promising faculty of 150 members and offers 16 courses in total.

Courses offered at Lady Shri Ram College and Eligibility for each Course:

Lady Shri ram offers under graduation, professional degrees, and postgraduation degrees in a plethora of subjects ranging from humanities, social sciences to science and commerce. The eligibility criteria for each course are listed below:
BCom honors– Applicant must have passed 10 + 2 examinations with a minimum of 45% with mathematics and business mathematics as compulsory subjects.
BA Honours with specialization in economics, journalism, English, Hindi, history, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology- Applicant must have passed 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45 % in aggregate and a minimum 50% in the specializing subject. For journalism, the applicant must have 50% in aggregate.
BA program without specialization– The applicant must have 45% in aggregate in 10+2 examination.

BSc Honours with specialization in Statistics and Mathematics– The applicant must have passed the 10+2 examination with 45% aggregate and 505 in Mathematics.
BElEd– Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination with an aggregate of 45% and must have cleared the entrance examination held by the Central Institute of Education (CIE) at the main campus of the University of Delhi.

22.5% of the total number of seats are reserved for individuals belonging to the Scheduled Caste (15%) and the Scheduled Tribes (7.5%) and a relaxation of 5% of the minimum marks is offered to the reserved applicants as mentioned above.

The Application Process for Lady Shri Ram College

Eligible applicants can apply for admission to the college through the application portal on the official website of Delhi University. Individuals applying based on sports quota needs to fill in their application through the ECA quota.
Important dates for the application process are listed below:
Online registration for 2020– 2nd week of may to 2nd week of June
Notification for first cut-off– 3rd week of June (postponed to October 12th)
Commencement of classes– 3rd week of June (postponed to November 18th)
Closing date of admission– 3rd week of August. ( postponed to November 18th- 20th)
The dates are tentative and delay is expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdown.

Fees structure for Lady Shri Ram college 2020:
For the BA program and BA honors degree, the fees for three years are INR 55,800 and INR 81,500 (to differ for each department) respectively. The tuition fee for BCom honors degree is 63,870 for three years and for BSc honors degree in mathematics and statistics, they are 63,870 and 64,770 respectively. For BElEd degree, the fees are 19,000 per annum.
