About Kerala TET Examination 2020
Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is a prerequisite of aspirants who want to take up the teaching profession in any state-sponsored schools within the state of Kerala. According to the Right to Education Act of 2009, states in India needs to conduct an eligibility test for teachers in state schools in order to uplift the quality of education provided to students within the country so that the teachers meet the required aptitude to teach.
KTET examination tests the aptitude of aspirants who are to teach lower primary, upper primary, and high school students within Kerala.
Kerala TET Examination 2020 schedule:
The Kerala Tet examination for the year 2020 was held in the month of February. The schedule of the examination this year is given below:
KTET Category 1– 15th February 2020- 10:00 – 12:00 (Lower primary, classes I to V)
KTET Category 2– 15th February- 2:00 – 4:30 (Upper Primary, classes V to VIII)
KTET Category 3 – 16th February- 11:00 – 1:30 (High School, classes IX to XII)
KTET Category 4– 17th February- 2:30 – 5:00 (Language Teacher)
The admit card for the examination was released on 5th February 2020 on the official website of the examination, that is, ktet.kerala.gov.in. It is mandatory for all candidates to download and carry the hardcopy to the examination center on the day of examination in order to be allowed inside the hall.
Kerala TET Examination 2020 Question Paper Pattern and Syllabus:
The full marks of the examination are 150 and the paper pattern differs for each category. For category 1, the paper is divided into 5 sections of thirty questions, each carrying 1 mark.
The sections under this category are Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language 1 where candidates can choose between Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada and Language 2 where candidates can choose between English and Arabic.
For the second category, the paper is divided into 4 sections- Child development and pedagogy carrying 30 marks, Mathematics or science or social science carrying 60 marks, Language 1 where candidates can choose from Malayalam, Tamil or English carrying 30 marks and Language 2 where candidates need to choose between Malayalam and English.
The third category paper is divided into 3 sections- Adolescent psychology, learning, and teaching aptitude theories carrying 40 marks, Language where the candidate needs to choose between Malayalam, English, Tamil or Kannada carrying 30 marks and subject-specific content and pedagogy carrying 80 marks.
The fourth category paper is also divided into 3 sections- Child development, pedagogy, and teacher aptitude carrying 30 marks, Language where the candidates need to choose between Malayalam, English, Tamil or Kannada carrying 40 marks and Subject-specific content and pedagogy carrying 80 marks.

Eligibility Criteria and Age limit for Kerala TET Examination 2020
There is no age limit for this examination. The eligibility criteria for the test for each category is as follows:
KTET category 1- 12th pass with minimum 50 % agg. and 4 years B.El.Ed or BA/BCom/BSc with min 45% + BEd or Higher Secondary pass with minimum 50% agg. + BA/BScEd/BAeD/BComEd.
KTET category 2- BA/BSc/BCom + 2years diploma in elementary Education/TTC or 12th pass with minimum 50% agg. + 4 years B.El.Ed or Higher Secondary pass with minimum 50 % agg. + BA/BSc.Ed/BA.Ed.
KTET Category 3- BA/BCom/BSc with minimum 45 % + Bed or MSc.Ed in Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 50% or degree in the concerned subject.
KTET Category 4- Certificate/diploma/degree in the chosen teaching field from a recognized university under NCTE or Kerala Government.
