The Plot of Code Geass Season 3

Code Geass was broadcasted in Japan on MBS in 2006-2007. The sequel to the anime was released in 2008. The show was praised for its strong storyline and impeccable animations. The anime was also later adapted for manga and other graphic novels that showed alternate realities of the reality on which the original series was based. Bandai Reality owned the license to release its English version in 2007 and was released on Adult Swim.

The story is set in an alternative universe where the world is divided into three superpowers: The Holy Britannian Empire (America), the Chinese Federation (Asia), and the European Union (Europe and Africa).

The story is about the exiled prince of Britannia Lelouch vi Britannia and his sister Nunnally vi Britannia. Nunnally loses her eyesight and ability to walk after she sees her mother being killed in the palace. Lelouch, believing his father has failed his mother and sister, turns against him.

The siblings are then said to japan as political pawns to establish a false sense of the secured relationship between the countries, while secretly sending armed forces and defeating Japan. Lelouch, enraged, promises to avenge his father’s wrong-doings to her Japanese friend Suzaku Kururugi and joins Ashford Academy under a different surname. Lelouch is granted power, called Geass (Giassu in Japanese meaning the power of God) which allows him to command anyone he chooses by a mysterious girl called CC.

Will Code Geass Season 3 Release?

With the world plunged into a bloodied war, Lelouch had to sacrifice himself for peace. However, in the 2019 film, the plotline is based on a different reality where Lelouch is still alive. This has made fans anticipate a season 3 set in an alternate reality. However, the makers have denied any plans for the third installment of the show, although, they did not officially cancel the show either. A gleam of hope for a third season, therefore, still remains.
