There are several streaming platforms available for users- Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, etc. Now there’s another addition to the bunch- Peacock.
When will Peacock debut?
NBCUniversal is launching its streaming service called Peacock. It will be available on platforms such as Android, Android TV devices, and Chromecast on July 14, 2020. The Distribution Partners include Google, Apple TV, and Microsoft’s Xbox.
Peacock will include movies, TV shows, live videos, and some popular news channels. It has two versions, a regular and a premium.
What is the subscription fee of Peacock?
Peacock Premium version comes with 7,500 hours of free content. This service is only available until October 15, 2020. After that, a per-month fee of $4.99 will be charged.
The Premium version also includes an option of availing ad-free streaming by paying an additional amount of $5.
Maggie McLean Suniewick, President at NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises, says, “Given Google’s extensive customer reach, millions of people will be able to start streaming Peacock on their preferred platform or device this July. We’ve made Peacock free to our distribution partners, including Google because we want people everywhere to stream Peacock, and the Peacock Premium promotion demonstrates our commitment to providing incredible value for our mutual customers.”
What are some of the featured movies and shows?
Besides, Peacock will roll-out many of its original shows such as Brave New World, The Capture, Lost Speedways, etc. Some of the movies include Jurassic Park, Shrek, Do the right thing, etc. Saturday Night Live, Two and a Half Men, and Psych are some of the featured shows.
Furthermore, users can also catch on with global news through 75 news channels like NBC News Now and Sky News.
Above all, the most interesting part is that in 2021, it will be a platform to include the iconic show The Office as the other platforms are getting rid of the show.
