Cells at Work is a Japanese manga series. This was written by Akane Shimizu. The illustration was also done by him. The manga was serialized on March 2015 and the anime began telecast from June 2018.
The theme of the anime is a bit similar, to that of Hollywood movie, Osmosis Jones. But, exist a lot of differences. Osmosis Jones had a combined combination of both live action and animated. Whereas, in case of Cells at Work it’s completely is an animated one. The protagonists of the series, a Red Blood cell and a White Blood cell. A different story line from other manga and anime series is clearly visible here.
Well looking into the plot, the whole series takes place inside the human body and the activities each of them does. The series particularly focuses on rookie Red Blood cell who often get lost during deliveries and White Blood cell who fights against any germs, that invades the body. The whole episodes of the series deals with any of the system of the body or with any of the disease. They also deal with problems such as smoking, alcohol and psychological. All these cells are collectively called as Anthropomorphized cells.
Well,as of now only a single season telecasted so far and talks on second season are on going. The second season is scheduled on 2021 as per the reports and rumors. The series has a huge number of fans and they are really waiting for next season. Animax has the telecasting right on TV. But, now Cells at Work is also available on Netflix. There episodes are streamed in YouTube also.
There’s also a spin off in the rumors, Cells at Work! Code Black. According to the rumors, the spin off shows GROWN-UPS issues. Well, lets wait and see.
